Where the book fits

Real change comes from putting the Map into practice in your own home, and that goes best with support. That's what working with me is. If it's not the right timing, or it's too big a commitment right now, the book bundle is a good place to start: the book, the companion workbook, and a 4-week self-paced course. It isn't the same as working with me, but it gives you the whole Map and a way to start using it.

A good book to read together

When two parents are working from different ideas, even good advice turns into an argument. Reading the same book gives you a shared picture to start from, whether you live together or not. Many parents read it first, then hand it to their partner or co-parent.

What others say

4.9 average across Amazon and Goodreads

"From the very first page, you'll feel like a wise, warm friend is walking alongside you. This book makes attachment theory beautifully relatable and practical, moving it into loving steps that come from the heart. It leaves you with the empowering feeling: 'I can do this!'"Kim John Payne, M.Ed.
Author of Simplicity Parenting and The Soul of Discipline
"This book provides a practical, attachment-based approach to parenting that focuses on connecting with our children as the foundation for our relationship. It helps parents gain skills to raise resilient children, while also providing parents with permission and grace to take time for ourselves and remind ourselves that we are humans who are going to make mistakes; and that's okay."Jessica Rabon, PhD
Pediatric psychologist
"Todd Sarner has written a heartfelt book for parents, encouraging them to connect with their children in a world of non-stop interference from technology. The magic in his writing is that he connects with his readers' everyday parenting experience so powerfully!"Tina Feigal, M.S.

"As a therapist, I've taught parenting classes and run a support group for parents. I've read many parenting books over the years. I can honestly say, this is one of the best books on parenting I've read. The author's advice feels kind to both child and parent, encouraging, and very doable."Hope, therapist

"I've read stacks of parenting books, but this one actually calmed me down while I read it. His warm, practical steps fit into messy real days, and the repair scripts saved me more than once. If you want to feel steady instead of reactive, this is the one."Anders R.
