Work With Me

You need the right Map. Sometimes you also need a Guide to walk it with you.

The Roadmap shows you the whole Map: connecting, regulating, and guiding, in the right order. Some parents take it from there on their own. Others want someone who knows the way to walk it with them, in their own family. That's what working with me is. Each month I take on a small number of families. This isn't for everyone. It might be for you.

The Map and the Guide

The Map

The Roadmap and the book show you the whole picture: what your kids need, in what order, and the three things that need to be in place for any of it to work. Many parents start here, and it's free.

The Guide

Knowing the Map and walking it in your own home are two different things. A Guide helps you see where your family is right now, what to do first, and what to do when things get hard. That's the work we do together.

Most parents aren't short on effort or love. It's just hard to see your own family clearly from the inside, especially when patterns from your own childhood show up. Someone who knows the way can help you see what's hard to see on your own.

What working together looks like

The whole Map, in order

Short lessons walk you through connecting, regulating, and guiding, one step at a time, so each piece makes the next one work.

A Guide who knows the way

Live coaching calls with me and a small group of parents. You bring what's happening at home, and I help you see where you are and what to do next.

Time to make it stick

After the learning, there's ongoing support while the changes settle in, so they last after we're done.

The full details, including timing and tuition, are in the document we send when you ask.

Why I can walk it with you

Most help for parents looks at one piece. I've spent 23 years as a parent coach. I'm also a psychotherapist, and for 17 years my couples work has been only with parents. And I have advanced training in nervous system regulation. So I can help with all three parts of family life: what's happening with your child, between the adults, and inside each parent. That's what it takes to walk the whole Map, not just one piece of it.

More about Todd

Is this a good fit for your family?

It's likely a good fit if

  • Life is good in a lot of ways, and home still feels harder than it should.
  • You want to understand the whole picture, not collect more tips.
  • You're open to looking at what you bring to it, including what you learned growing up. Most of us were handed some of that, and it isn't a failing.
  • If you have a co-parent, you'd like the two of you on the same page, whether you live together or not.
  • The timing is right: you have the time and space to put into this over the next few months.

It's probably not the right fit if

  • You're looking for a quick fix for one behavior.
  • You'd like someone to work with your child directly. This work is with you, the parents.
  • Your family needs more urgent or clinical support right now. If so, I'm glad to point you toward the right help.
  • Now isn't the right time. That's okay. The book and the free videos are a good place to keep going.

Why a small group

We keep each group small so every family gets real attention. Going through it with a group also helps in ways that are hard to get on your own. You hear how other parents handle the same struggles, you see that you're not the only one, and you become part of a small community of parents doing this together. We want to do this well, so we don't accept everyone. We want to work with families who are ready, at a time that's right for them.

What parents say

Questions parents ask

Do I have to get on a sales call?

No. We don't do sales calls. If you have questions after reading the details, just reply and we'll answer them.

What happens after I send COHORT?

We'll email you a document with all the details, including the tuition, so you can make an informed decision. There's no call and no pressure. Read it, and if it's for you, just reply.

What ages is this for?

The Map applies to kids of all ages. Most of the families we work with have children between 2 and 12, and some also have older kids. If yours are a little outside that range, you're still welcome to reach out.

Do both parents need to take part?

It's highly recommended, especially for parents who are together, and in most families both parents do take part. If you're separated or divorced, we encourage it, but it isn't required.

Do we meet in person?

No. All of our work together is online, by video, so you can join from home wherever you live.

Is this therapy?

No. This is parent coaching and education. I'm a licensed therapist, and that training shapes how I work, but working together is coaching, not therapy.

What if the timing isn't right?

Start with the book or the free videos. You can send COHORT whenever you're ready.
